Commission To Name Replacement Judges
A commission selecting a new magistrate to fill a vacancy left by Judge John Luster, who is now a district judge, soon will begin interviewing candidates.
Another selection will be made to fill a vacancy left by Judge Quentin Harden in Boundary County. Harden announced he will retire on Dec. 31.
The 1st District Magistrate Commission will hold interviews Oct. 17 and 18.
Six attorneys will be interviewed for Luster’s position: Kootenai County prosecutor Lansing Haynes, John Miller, Scot Nass, Susan Servick, Scott Wayman and Susan Weeks. Three attorneys have applied for Harden’s post: Kenneth Adler, Brent Featherston and John Topp.
Cynthia Elliott and Justin Julian have applied for both positions.
