“Fahrenheit 9/11” at the Panida – Vote Hope Campaign will offer free tickets today only to 18 to 24-year-olds to see the movie, register to vote and participate in a moderated discussion following the movie at 7:30 p.m. at the Panida Theatre in Sandpoint. The movie continues Friday and Saturday for $6 adults, $5 seniors and students. For more information, call 263-9191.

“Welcome to Bedside Manor” – This will be the last of the Huckleberry children’s shows at the Lake City Playhouse this summer. Directed by Becki Stevens, performances are today through Saturday at 7 p.m. $7 general admission. Tickets and information: 667-1323.

P.M. Rocks! – The 2004 Summer Tour at the Holiday Hallmark store, 212-F Ironwood Drive, from 1-4 p.m. PM Rocks! are a new series of collectibles by Enesco, a maker of figurines, and creator of the Precious Moments collection. At this event, girls in the area ages 8-12 will have the opportunity to lip-sync to hit songs. For every PM Rocks! figurine that sells, Enesco will donate a portion of the proceeds to VH1 Save the Music Foundation.

“The Art Books of James Castle” – A traveling exhibit from the Idaho Center for the Book, will be on display through Sept. 9 in the Corner Gallery in Boswell Hall at North Idaho College. Castle was a self-taught artist known for his use of found objects, including books.

Lake City Playhouse – Discount season tickets are on sale now for the 2004-05 season. By one season ticket through the month of August and receive the second one at half price. Auditions are ongoing for all productions as well. Two men and four women ages 13 and older are needed for the first production, “A Shayna Maidel.” Auditions are Aug. 30-31 at 6:30 p.m. For more information call the theater at 667-1323 or stop by 1320 E. 2004 Coeur d’Alene Wooden Boat Festival – Registration and boat launching is Friday from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. with an opening reception and cocktail party for boat owners at 6 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. The boardwalk will be open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. for viewing, with free boat rides beginning at 10 a.m. each day. Drawing for a Calabria boat will be between 10:30 and 11 a.m. Saturday at the Third Street dock. Tickets available at participating Subway restaurants. There will also be a display of small boats at Second and Sherman next to the beer garden.

New Student Convocation and Orientation – Friday at 9 a.m. in the University of Idaho Kibbie Dome. Parents and students receive welcome; residence hall parents’ orientation.

Registration deadline for Coeur d’Alene Shootout – is Friday for the double-elimination, three-on-three basketball tournament to be held Aug. 28-29 at North Idaho College; $80 per team includes T-shirt.
