Lenz leads CdA past East Valley
Jackie Lenz picked a good time for a season high.
Lenz scored 20 points, the first time this season she’s scored in double figures, to lead the Coeur d’Alene to a 62-44 non-league win over East Valley at Coeur d’Alene.
The Vikings went on a 22-4 roll through the third quarter after building a four-point halftime lead.
Lenz also grabbed six rebounds and made three steals and Jenna Griffitts added another 17 points as Coeur d’Alene won for the ninth time in 10 games.
Katie Storey led East Valley with 13 points, with Kelsey Hentges adding another 12 points.
Inland Empire League
Lakeland wins in OT
Lakeland went on an 11-4 run in overtime to earn a 39-32 Inland Empire League win at Post Falls. The Trojans missed three shots from within 10 feet in the final seconds of regulation. Jessie Bartlett scored nine points to lead Lakeland. Karli Kasun led Post Falls with eight.
Intermountain League
Badgers pull away
Bonners Ferry pulled away in the second half to take a 54-49 Intermountain League win over visiting Kellogg. Katie Poston scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Badgers. Cami Wendt hit five 3-pointers and finished with 23 points to lead Kellogg.
North Star League
Scheffelmaier pours in 31
Cassi Scheffelmaier erupted for 31 points, grabbed seven rebounds, dished off six assists and made five steals as Kellogg stormed Post Falls Christian, 62-36, in a North Star League at Kellogg. Nikita Amy added a dozen points and seven rebounds.
Whitman County League
Holbrook’s 24 lifts Gar-Pal
Holly Holbrook’s two free throws with 10 seconds left in the game lifted Garfield-Palouse to a 43-41 Whitman County League win at LaCrosse-Washtucna. The Vikings, who trailed by four at halftime, went on a 16-6 run in the third quarter by shooting 50 percent from the floor. Holbrook finished with 24 points. Karia Koller had 15 points and Jennifer Ayers-Stamper added another 13 for the Tigercats.

KF, Newport gain final
Kettle Falls went on a 17-4 run through the second quarter en route to a 58-45 victory over Priest River in the opening game of the Newport Holiday Tournament. Liz Beardslee paced Kettle Falls with 12 points. Calli Turner led the Spartans with 13. … Newport 71, Timberlake 26: The Grizzlies roared out of the gate with a 19-4 run through the first quarter of their tournament opener. Maria Barranco scored 22 points to lead Newport, with Meagan Stanley adding nine points and a dozen rebounds.
