JC linebacker signs with Idaho

The University of Idaho’s junior college football recruiting class expanded to eight with Wednesday’s signing of Tone Taupule to a national letter of intent.

Taupule comes to Idaho from Compton CC. He initially signed at Oregon State University after graduating from Long Beach Jordan High School. He was a second-team Western States Southern Division all-conference choice at Compton last fall.

Taupule, at 6-1, 200, is expected to play linebacker for the Vandals.

Men’s basketball

Community Colleges of Spokane (7-5) had four players in double figures, but fell to host Chabot College 82-79 of Hayward, Calif., in the Chabot College Classic. The Sasquatch will meet Gavilan for third today.
