Willingham better off?
Tyrone Willingham moves from Notre Dame to Washington as head football coach. Now about these two schools …
In the world of college football, Notre Dame has had its games televised far more than any other team, won more national championships, had more books written about it, had more Heisman Trophy winners, and has the highest all-time winning percentage.
When one looks at the contiguous states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado and Kansas, and then asks which school within this vast territory has the all-time highest winning percentage in college football history, the answer is the University of Washington. (Actually, Boise State is higher, but they’ve only been I-A team since 1996).
So what this represents is Ty Willingham going from one bully school to another. And wouldn’t it be interesting if Washington under Willingham wins a national championship before Notre Dame does?
