Donald Hendrickson
Colfax
Viewing for Donald C. Hendrickson, 77, will be today from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax. Funeral is planned for Friday at 1 p.m. at Community Bible Church in Colfax. Burial will be at a later date at the Denver Cemetery near Cottonwood, Idaho.
Mr. Hendrickson, who was born in Cottonwood, died Monday.
He graduated from Clarkston High School in 1945 and enlisted in the Navy soon after. He was honorably discharged in 1946.
Later that year he married Lila Jones in Grangeville, Idaho. They made their home in Grangeville, where Mr. Hendrickson worked as a bookkeeper for Stegner Grain Elevator. He and his wife moved to Oakesdale, Edwall and Walla Walla, where he held similar jobs. They settled in Diamond, Wash., near Colfax, in 1962 and Mr. Hendrickson began a long career with the McGregor Co. He worked as a bookkeeper and office manager, retiring in 1992.
He returned to work part-time for McGregor’s a year later. He was still workingat the time of his death.
Mr. Hendrickson was a member of the NRA and a past member of the Colfax Elks Lodge. He enjoyed collecting and restoring antique guns, hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a history buff, an avid reader and also liked motorcycles.
Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Sandy Gilbert of Pomeroy, Wash., Kathy Hughes of Normandy Park, Wash., Chris Boehm of Anacortes, Wash., Donna Cockrill of East Wenatchee and Karen Hall of Colfax; a son, Richard Hendrickson of East Wenatchee; a sister, Virginia Hill of Spokane; a brother, John Reed of Eugene, Ore.; 19 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association or the Diabetes Foundation.
Ralph Tyson
Ritzville, Wash.
Memorial service for Ralph A. Tyson, 76, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Danekas Funeral Home.
Mr. Tyson, a former longtime resident of Medical Lake, died Friday at his home in Ritzville.
He was born in Stanley, Wis., and at an early age moved with his family to Washington state. He graduated from Medical Lake High School.
Mr. Tyson was employed by Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake for more than 25 years, retiring as maintenance supervisor. He served on the Medical Lake Volunteer Fire Department for more than 37 years, including many as acting fire chief.
He married Mary McCann in 1974. After retirement they traveled in their motor home before settling in Ritzville about 12 years ago.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bruce Tyson of Cheney and Brad Tyson of Four Lakes; two daughters, Sharon DeSpain of Spokane and Janie Smith of Beaverton, Ore.; three stepchildren John and David Perry, and Margaret Norris, all of Spokane; a brother, Leonard; two sisters, Violet and Bertha; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gritman Senior Center, Ritzville, or to the Medical Lake Fire Department.
Dian Lean
Spokane
No service will be held for Dian Jane Cooil Lean, 87. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Lean died Dec. 21. She was born in Colfax, and grew up in Colfax, Sprague, Cheney, Spokane, Mullan, Idaho, and Soap Lake. She attended Washington State College for two years before marrying Bert Lean in 1938. They lived in Cheney for eight years. They later moved to Seattle, then to Port Angeles.
She and her husband divorced in 1949, and Mrs. Lean moved to Spokane where she worked as a city bus driver and ran a boarding house for single parents. She later worked as a bookkeeper for Canteen Co. for many years.
She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Lean of Olympia and James Lean of Livermore, Calif.; a daughter, Sharon Schnaible of Puyallup, Wash.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Llewellyn McMillan
Valleyford
Private service will be held for Llewellyn McMillan, 78. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. McMillan, a longtime resident of Valleyford, died Saturday. He was born in Snohomish, Wash.
He graduated from Rockford High School and served in the Army. Mr. McMillan was a longtime farmer in the Valleyford area. In 1964 he married Luella Tuttle. She preceded him in death.
Survivors include his twin brother, LeeRoy McMillan of Valleyford; and two nieces, Connie Ross and Kathy Asher.
John Hansen
Spokane
Memorial service for John Moore “Jack” Hansen, 82, will be today at 11 a.m. at Riplinger Funeral Home.
Mr. Hansen, who was born in Benjamin, Utah, died Dec. 21.
He grew up in Benjamin and Spanish Fork, Utah and Petaluma, Calif. After graduation from Petaluma High School he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II and was honorably discharged after the war.
Mr. Hansen lived in Portland for a time, where he worked for the Kirby Corp. He moved to Spokane in 1963.
In 1973 he married Eunice Lesonik.
Mr. Hansen operated his own Kirby distributor franchise in Spokane. He retired in 1997.
He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Men’s Club at Wandermere Golf Course.
Survivors include his wife; four children, Jacquelyne Barker of Pleasanton, Calif., Barbara Marks of Colbert, Bret Hansen of Spokane and Michael Hansen of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Norma Greer of Provo, Utah and Barbara Donald of San Rafael, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Louise (Terril) Feeney
Spokane Valley
No service will be held for A. Louise (Terril) Feeney, 78, at her request. Hennessey Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Feeney, who died last Thursday, was born in Aberdeen, Wash.
She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1944 and married Donald Clark in 1946. After a divorce in 1951, she moved to Wenatchee, where she worked for Burlington Northern Railroad.
She married Victor Ussery in 1953, and they moved to Spokane, where they both worked for Great Northern Railroad.
Her husband died in 1962, and she married Jerry Feeney in 1973. They moved from Spokane to Missoula. He preceded her in death.
She later returned to Spokane.
She enjoyed plants, particularly roses, and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include a son, Don Clark of Spokane; a brother, Richard Terril of Port Angeles, Wash.; and two half-brothers, Allan Terril of Overton, Nev., and Jim Oliver of Washington, D.C.
Rosemary Armenia
Spokane
Funeral Mass for Rosemary B. Armenia, 88, will be today at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Armenia, a lifelong resident of the Spokane area, died Sunday.
She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and was active in charitable organizations including the Greater Gonzaga University Guild.
She worked as an office manager of a dental office.
Her husband of 39 years, John, died in 1975.
Survivors include two children, John Armenia of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Diane Wolfe-Lurus of Spokane; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Florence ‘Peggy’ Aumack
Spokane
Private inurnment will be held for Florence I. “Peggy” Aumack, 86, at the Newport Cemetery. Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Aumack, who died Dec. 19, was born and raised in Spokane.
As a young woman she worked for Boeing in Seattle and also at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane. She then moved to the Cusick, Wash., area, where she worked at many restaurants.
Survivors include a son, Steve Brauner of Spokane; two daughters, Susan Tripp of Portland and Pamella Bailey of Everett; a brother, Thomas Aumack of Santa Rosa, Calif.; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Lilly ‘Bea’ Herrmann
Spokane
Funeral for Lilly “Bea” (Baxter) Herrmann, 84, was Wednesday at Dishman First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Herrmann, who was born in Flat Top, Ala., died Friday. She was a resident of Spokane for more than 50 years.
She worked as a nurse for many years at Lakeland Village and was a member of the Dishman First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth; two sons, Allen Reavis of Wilmington, N.C., and Reed Reavis of Haymarket, Va.; a brother, Thomas Baxter of Alabama; three sisters, Melba Moebes and Eloise Bonner, both of Alabama and Jean Weir of Kansas City, Mo.
John Moran
Moyie Springs, Idaho
Private service will be held for John Edward Moran, 92. Bonners Ferry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Moran, who was born in Inglewood, Calif., died Saturday.
He graduated from high school in Inglewood and joined the Army, serving in the Philippines in World War II.
After the war, he worked for Northrop Aircraft Co. as a machinist, developing specialized tools. He retired in 1972 and moved to Moyie Springs in 1997.
He enjoyed boating, traveling in his motor home and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Erna.
Survivors include two sons, John Moran of Maple Valley, Wash., and AllenMoran of Moyie Springs; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mary Gray
Spokane
Memorial service for Mary L. Gray, 77, will be Sunday at Sunrise Church of Christ. Burial will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Gray, a lifelong Spokane resident, died Monday.
She graduated from Lewis and Clark High School and worked as a secretary for various companies.
She married Donald Gray in 1970 in Spokane.
Mrs. Gray was a member of Sunrise Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survivors include two sons, David and Richard Brendmoen, both of Spokane; a stepdaughter, Virginia Dowiasz of Nine Mile Falls; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
David Holt
Post Falls
Private service will be held for David Dwight Holt, 51. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Born in Olympia, Mr. Holt died Monday.
He moved to Post Falls four years ago from Kellogg and had previously lived in Spokane for 22 years. He was a land surveyor for Benthin and Associates in Spokane. He retired three years ago.
Mr. Holt was a Master Gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Lorry; a son, Josh at home; a daughter, Heather Holt of Spokane; four sisters, Patricia Anthony of Tacoma, Carol Jennings and Cora Legge, both of Spokane, and Laura Legge of Medical Lake; two brothers, Sam Holt of El Monte, Calif. and Jim Pape of Bremerton; his stepfather, Chuck Pape of Rainier, Wash.; and one grandson.
Barbara Brayman
Coeur d’Alene
No service will be held for Barbara M. Brayman. English Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brayman wasa lifetime resident of Coeur d’Alene. She died Dec. 22. She was 72.
She spent her early years in Coeur d’Alene and Rathdrum, Idaho, where her parents ran the original Westwood Cafe. Her father’s contracting business brought in fill for Playland Pier, now Independence Point. She was a waitress and baker by trade and baked huge cinnamon rolls at the Pines Restaurant on Northwest Boulevard.
Later in life, Mrs. Brayman volunteered at the Coeur d’Alene Senior Center preparing meals.
While her husband, John, was alive they enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping together up the North Fork of the Coeur d’Alene River. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, doing crossword puzzles and mushroom hunting.
Mrs. Brayman is survived by two sons, Clifford Singer and Raymond Singer, both of Coeur d’Alene; two sisters, Mabel Becker of Livingston, Texas, and Georgia Hattenberg of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Pat Schneberger of Spokane; three granddaughters and two great-grandchildren.
Arden Painter
Sandpoint
Private service will be held at a later date for Arden Ellis Painter, 89. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Painter, who was born in Fort Recovery, Mercer County, Ohio, died Sunday.
In 1940 he married Alta May Arnold.
He served in World War II in the submarine service.
He and his wife lived in Richmond, Calif., before moving to Sandpoint in 1978.
Mr. Painter was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sandpoint and a retired member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. He also was a member of Masonic Lodge 630 of Parker City, Ind., and was a member of Post 437 American Legion of Selma, Ind.
His wife died in 1993.
Survivors include two sons, David of Forest Park, Ga., and Dale of St. Helens, Ore.; a daughter, Sandra Burnett of Rathdrum, Idaho; three sisters, Merle Stephens of Muncie, Ind., and Nedra Warren and Rosemary Hayes both of Portland; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
