Valley High Schools Christmas tree recycling – Support one of three Spokane Valley High Schools in January by recycling your Christmas trees to benefit the bands and color guards at each of the schools from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Schools, dates and locations include: Central Valley High School, drop off on Saturday, Sunday or Jan. 8-9 at CVHS, Progress Elementary School, Sunrise Elementary, Liberty Lake Elementary or Greenacres Middle School; for University High School, drop off on Sunday or Jan. 8 at U-High, University Elementary, Broadway Elementary, or the CV district property located at 44th and Sands Road; and for West Valley High School, drop off on Jan. 8-9 at WVHS, the WV Administration Building or Pasadena Elementary. Pick-up service is available by calling 228-5168 for CV, 228-5307 for U-Hi, or 487-3145 for WV; call prior to drop off dates. A donation of $5 is requested for drop off, $7 for pick-up service.

Christmas tree recycling – To support Cub Scout Troop 304, recycle your tree at Rosauers Supermarket on the corner of 14th and Lincoln, Sunday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Jan. 7 from 5-7 p.m.; and Jan. 8-9 from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. A $5 donation is requested. Pick-up service is available for $10 by contacting Jim at 363-1882.

Compass Club meeting – Tuesday, 11 a.m. at The Onion, 7522 N. Division. Topic will be “Spokane Youth – Our Future,” presented by Glen Bishop, executive director of Spokane’s Youth Club.
