Horse Clinic to benefit A-Stride Ahead – Demonstration given by Steve Rother, Horsemanship Clinician, 3 p.m. at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center. Tickets are $10/adults, $5/children, and free to children ages 5 and under, and are available at the door as well as Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply, 14228 N. Newport Highway, Mead. Proceeds will benefit A-Stride Ahead, a nonprofit organization in Deer Park which assists persons with disabilities through hippotherapy. Bats of Turnbull Presentation – Tuesday, 8 p.m. in the Environmental Education Center at the Turnbull Wildlife Refuge Headquarters, Cheney. Presented by Sandy Rancourt, wildlife biologist and bat expert, with a bat walk to follow which includes a demonstration of special sound detectors and identification and examination of living bats. Bring insect repellant or wear long sleeves and pants, a sweater or jacket and a flashlight. Children must be accompanied with their parents. Family Identification Plan – Presented by COPS Northwest, offers IDs for all children and other family members at risk. ID packets are available at COPS Northwest on the first Saturday of every month from 10 a.m. to noon. Participants will receive a computer disk copy of their photo and a fingerprint card.
