Avengers snakebit again

Sherdrick Bonner threw six touchdown passes to lead the Arizona Rattlers into the second round of the Arena League playoffs with a 59-42 win Sunday over the Los Angeles Avengers at Phoenix.

Orshawante Bryant had three touchdown catches, including one with 11 seconds left to ice it for the Rattlers, who will play Colorado on Sunday at home. The Crush beat New Orleans 47-44.

Los Angeles is 0-3 in playoff games, and has lost its last two to Arizona.

Tony Graziani threw for 297 yards and four touchdowns on 25-for-37 passing for Los Angeles. Two of his TD passes were to former WSU Cougars standout Chris Jackson, who had five catches for 70 yards.

Rush 59, Predators 49

At Rosemont, Ill., Raymond Philyaw threw four touchdown passes and DeJuan Alfonzo intercepted a pass at the Orlando 1-yard line to help Chicago advance to the second round.

Chicago will play at San Jose on Saturday. The SaberCats beat Tampa Bay 56-52 last Saturday.

Crush 47, VooDoo 44

At New Orleans, John Dutton completed 23 of 35 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns to lead Chicago over New Orleans.
