The University of Idaho’s men’s basketball roster is complete with the signing of a scholarship agreement by 6-foot-3 point guard Tihon Johnson, a transfer from Mt. San Jacinto (Calif.) College.

“I was impressed with his ability to run a team,” Idaho coach Leonard Perry said in a press release. “He looked very comfortable in the point guard position. He made good decisions and he was able to make the 3.”

During his sophomore season at Mt. San Jacinto, Johnson earned the Foothill Conference’s Most Valuable Player honor after averaging 19 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. He shot 36 percent from 3-point range and 76 percent from the line. He had a high game of 37 points.

He is a 2001 graduate of East High School at Columbus, Ohio, where he earned all-state honors and honorable mention All-America recognition as well as honor roll mention.
