Good news for prospect

SEATTLE – The Mariners finally got word on Tacoma Rainiers infielder Jose Lopez, who was injured on Monday – and they were relieved by the report.

Team doctor Larry Pedegana reviewed the tests and confirmed that Lopez, a top prospect, has a sprained left medial collateral ligament.

Lopez’s rehabilitation is expected to take six weeks.
