Ballroom dancing comes to CdA

The Coeur d’Alene Ballroom Spectacular on the Lake, three days of ballroom dance exhibitions, competitions and workshops, comes to the Coeur d’Alene Resort this weekend.

Featured performers are Nicholas Kosovich and Lena Bakhtcheva, the 2003 U.S. National Classic Showdance Champions, along with the new partnership of Jose Decamps and Katarzyna Kozak.

Evening shows are Friday and Saturday, with competitions all day Saturday. Kosovich and Bakhtcheva are among the instructors for a series of eight workshops on Sunday, ranging from foxtrot to samba to showdance.

A two-day pass for Friday and Saturday is $110. Evening performances are $49 ($79 for Saturday show with dinner). Saturday daytime admission is $20, and Sunday’s workshops are $15 each or $90 for all eight. Children under 12 are admitted free during the day and for half price at night; junior high and high school students with ID are admitted for half price (dinner not discounted).
