Spokane Kennel Club Dog Show and Obedience Trial – today and Sunday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Spokane County Fair and Expo Center. Parking is $5. Contact Barbara Nelson at 328-7652 for more information.

Pet Fest – Visitors can choose from more than 100 pets from local shelters and rescue groups that need homes, 9 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Spokane Fair and Expo Center, Ag A and B Buildings. Event will also include: auditions for Animal Planet’s “Pet Star,” 1-2:30 p.m., to register your pet call (323) 463-5040 or e-mail auditions@bradlachmanprods.com; appearance by Dick VanPatten, Natural Balance Pet Foods; pet magic show; wiener dog races; and a Nutro Dog Food dive for prizes sponsored by Toyota. Admission is $6/adults, free to children ages 12 and under, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Spokane Humane Society.
