Wood leads for NIC Board of Trustees

From staff reports

Christie Wood may now hold seats on two school boards. The Coeur d’Alene police sergeant and spokeswoman was leading early returns Tuesday to gain a seat on North Idaho College’s Board of Trustees.

Wood also serves on the Coeur d’Alene School Board.

With a third of the precincts in, Wood, 43, received 53 percent of the votes. She was leading NIC student Tyler Allen Smith and Post Falls City Administrator Jim Hammond. Smith received 8 percent, and Hammond received 38 percent.

Wood attended NIC in the 1980s and recently took classes at NIC.
