Another vote for running

I am concerned about the lack of coverage of running events in the newspaper. Two weeks ago, a marathon was run in this city and it got no coverage whatsoever, except for a scant list of the top finishers in the stats section. There were two other races run in conjunction with this event, a half marathon and 5-miler. This race has been going on for about 10 years and has never had appropriate press coverage. Imagine what would have become of Bloomsday had it received the same lack of attention!

The high school and collegiate cross country coverage is barely better. Rest assured there are many people in this city who look forward to seeing how our local runners of all ages are performing.
