Buckeyes’ Ginn bedevils Spartans
Freshman Ted Ginn had three touchdowns and Ohio State (6-3, 2-4 Big Ten) rallied by scoring the last 15 points in a 32-19 victory over Michigan State (4-5, 3-3) on Saturday in East Lansing, Mich. Ginn caught four passes for 77 yards, including a 58-yard reception with 1:37 left, in a game of scoring streaks. He also ran for a 17-yard TD on a reverse and scored on a 60-yard punt return. He set a school record with his third punt return for a score and tied Ohio State’s career mark.

Syracuse 38, Pittsburgh 31 (2OT): At Syracuse, N.Y., Damien Rhodes scored on a 2-yard run in the second overtime, then Syracuse’s defense stopped Pittsburgh on fourth-and-1, sending the Orangemen (5-4, 3-1 Big East) to a dramatic victory over the Panthers (5-3, 3-2).
Northwestern 14, Penn State 7: At State College, Pa., Noah Herron rushed for 175 yards, setting up one touchdown and scoring another, to lead the Wildcats (5-4, 4-2 Big Ten) past the Nittany Lions (2-7, 0-6).
Air Force 31, Army 22: At West Point, N.Y., quarterback Adam Fitch ran for 115 yards and scored a touchdown to lead the Falcons (4-5) to a victory over the Black Knights (2-6).
Kent State 33, Buffalo 7: At Amherst, N.Y., David Alston ran for four touchdowns to lead the Golden Flashes (3-6, 2-4 MAC) to a win over the Bulls (1-8, 1-5). Alston rushed for 174 yards on 29 attempts.

Florida 34, Vanderbilt 17: At Nashville, Tenn., Chris Leak ran for a touchdown and threw for two more, and the Gators (5-4, 3-4 SEC) snapped a two-game losing streak by beating the Commodores (2-7, 1-5) for their 14th straight victory in the series.
Georgia Tech 24, North Carolina State 14: At Raleigh, N.C., Reggie Ball made up for a poor performance by throwing a 1-yard touchdown pass to Levon Thomas midway through the fourth quarter, and the Yellow Jackets (5-3, 4-3 ACC) held off the Wolfpack (4-5, 3-4).
South Carolina 35, Arkansas 32: At Columbia, S.C., Syvelle Newton threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Troy Williamson with 1:09 left to give the Gamecocks (6-3, 4-3 SEC) a win over the Razorbacks (3-5, 1-4).
Ohio 17, Central Florida 16 (OT): At Orlando, Fla., Ohio’s Stafford Owens scored on a 21-yard pass from Ryan Hawk in overtime, and the Bobcats (4-6, 2-5 MAC) snapped a four-game losing streak by hanging on to beat the Golden Knights (0-9, 0-6).
Tulane 42, Navy 10: At New Orleans, Lester Ricard completed 18 of 19 passes for 323 yards and four TDs as the Green Wave (3-5) defeated the Midshipmen (7-2).
Alabama 30, Mississippi State 14: At Tuscaloosa, Ala., Ken Darby ran for a career-high 200 yards on 36 carries to lead the Crimson Tide (6-3, 3-3 SEC) past the Bulldogs (3-6, 2-4).

Kansas State 35, Missouri 24: At Columbia, Mo., backup quarterback Alan Webb threw two TD passes and Darren Sproles ran for two scores, helping the Wildcats (4-5, 2-4 Big 12) rally from an early 21-point deficit to beat the Tigers (4-5, 2-4).
Colorado 30, Kansas 21: At Lawrence, Kan., Stephone Robinson scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 48-yard punt return and Lawrence Vickers added a late score to seal it, leading the Buffaloes (5-4, 2-4 Big 12) to a win over the Jayhawks (3-6, 1-5).
Iowa State 34, Nebraska 27: At Ames, Iowa, Bret Meyer threw for a career-best 345 yards and three TDs to the lead the Cyclones (5-4, 3-3) past the Cornhuskers (5-4, 3-3) and into a tie for first place in the Big 12 North.
Bowling Green 52, Western Michigan 0: At Bowling Green, Ohio, Omar Jacobs threw four touchdown passes — all in the first half as Bowling Green set a school record with 49 points — and the Falcons (7-2, 5-1 MAC) coasted to a win over the Broncos (1-8, 0-6).
Illinois 26, Indiana 22: At Champaign, Ill., Kelvin Hayden’s interception set up Jon Beutjer’s short touchdown pass with 30 seconds remaining, and the Fighting Illini (3-7, 1-6) rallied from a 19-point deficit to beat the Hoosiers (3-6, 1-5), ending a 14-game Big Ten losing streak.
Eastern Michigan 61, Central Michigan 58 (4OT): At Detroit, Andrew Wellock hit a 24-yard field goal in the fourth overtime to give the Eagles (4-5, 4-2 MAC) a win over the Chippewas (3-6, 2-4).

Fresno State 52, Rice 21: At Houston, Paul Pinegar threw three first-half touchdowns and Richard Marshall returned an interception 100 yards for a score as the Bulldogs (5-3, 2-3 WAC) roughed up the Owls (3-6, 2-4).
Texas Tech 42, Baylor 17: At Lubbock, Texas, Sonny Cumbie threw for 397 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Red Raiders (6-3, 4-2 Big 12) to a victory over the Bears (3-6, 1-5). Cumbie, who led the nation in passing entering the game, was 37 of 48 with an interception.
Southern Methodist 41, Tulsa 35 (OT): At Dallas, Cedrick Dorsey scored on a 25-yard touchdown run in overtime then Jamey Harper intercepted a pass at the goal line to preserve the Mustangs’ (2-7, 2-4 WAC) victory over the Golden Hurricane (2-7, 1-4).
Houston 34, East Carolina 24: At Houston, Kevin Kolb threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more scores, and Anthony Evans ran for 156 yards and a touchdown as the Cougars (3-5, 3-3 CUSA) beat the Pirates (2-6, 2-4).

Brigham Young 49, San Diego State 16: At Provo, Utah, John Beck threw for 313 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Cougars (5-4, 4-1 MWC) over the Aztecs (2-7, 0-5) for their third straight victory.
Wyoming 53, UNLV 45 (3OT): At Las Vegas, J.J. Raterink’s 25-yard pass to Jovon Bouknight in the third overtime, his fourth TD pass of the game, gave the Cowboys (6-3, 3-2 MWC) a win over the Rebels (2-7, 1-4).
Nevada 42, San Jose State 24: At Reno, Nev., Jeff Rowe completed 25 of 35 passes for 252 yards and two TDs to lead the Wolf Pack (5-4, 3-2 WAC) past the Spartans (2-6, 1-4).
