Tell it like you see it

The Spokesman-Review

I read two letters in last weeks sports page that criticized Rich Landers and his opinions as stated in (“Voters, beware of misleading messages”, Oct. 28.) While I agree that we all have the right to voice our concerns about the content of this fine paper, I do not think it’s very smart to threaten to stop reading our leading local publication because one writer’s views run counter to our own.

I look forward to reading Rich’s work every week, especially the Outdoors section in the Sunday paper. The only way I’d ever cancel a subscription to the Spokesman is if a writer, liberal or conservative, were to be censored, or worse, for speaking the truth as he or she sees it, in an editorial. I’m sure that if a Democratic administration were to do the things to our outdoors that President Bush and his friends have, Rich would be on their back too.

Thank you, Rich, for years of service to all types of outdoor enthusiasts. Don’t listen to the people who say that politics is not a part of the outdoors. I don’t always agree with you, but, please, keep telling it how you see it.
