EWU, Idaho post easy wins

Eastern Washington and Idaho rolled to 3-0 victories in college volleyball action Thursday night.

EWU (9-5 overall), remained undefeated in the Big Sky Conference with its fourth victory, a 30-25, 30-23, 31-29 decision over host Northern Arizona (3-11, 1-3) in Flagstaff.

Keva Sonderen had 18 kills with a .533 hitting percentage and Deanna Albers added 11 (.348).

On the other side of the net, Northern Arizona was held to a .200 hitting percentage.

Idaho (9-5, 3-3 Big West) defeated visiting Cal Poly 30-13, 30-24, 30-22 with some extraordinary hitting from Sarah Meek (14 kills, .600) and Saxony Brown (11, .556). Kati Tikker (.265) led the Vandals with 15 kills.

The Vandals, who ended a two-game losing streak, shut down the Broncos, who hit at only a .122 clip.

Meek recorded her 328th career block assist which moves her into sixth on the UI career block assists list.

Idaho’s Mandy Becker recorded her 55th career double-figure digs match which moves her into a tie for first on the all-time career double-figure digs list.
