BEAVER VALLEY, British Columbia – Matt Ferraro made 30 saves and the Beaver Valley Nitehawks scored five goals in the second period Tuesday night to defeat the Spokane Braves 8-4 in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

Leif Sherman and Ryan Pajimola both scored their ninth goals of the season for the Braves (4-10-1-0), the third-place team in the Neil Murdoch Division. Second-place Beaver Valley (9-0-1-1) moved within one point of Castlegar.
