Frances postpones game

Compiled from wire reports

The Florida Marlins postponed Friday’s home game with the Chicago Cubs because of Hurricane Frances. No decision has been made as to when the game will be rescheduled, but the possibility exists for a split, day-night doubleheader on Sunday at Pro Player Stadium.

Another possibility is for the Marlins to reschedule a game in their series with the New York Mets scheduled for Tuesday-Thursday. If Mets agree to move the Thursday game to Monday, the Marlins and Cubs could make up a game on Thursday.
