Friends of Manito Fall Plant Sale - The complete plant list is available online at www.thefriendsofmanito.org, or at TFMs office. Net proceeds from this sale are used to improve and maintain Manito Park. Hours 10 a.m.-4 p.m., with member-only sale from 8-10 a.m. Saturday. Manito Park, in an area just east of Gaiser Conservatory.

Building Pathways - Free hands-on workshop sponsored by The Green Zone on creating a walkway, path or driveway with different types of permeable surfaces rather than using concrete or asphalt. Two workshops offered: 9 a.m.-noon or 12:30-3:30 p.m., registration required by calling WSU Extension Office. Sept. 18. 222 N. Havana in the outdoor center, south of fairgrounds. 477-2048.

Gardeners of Spokane - Celebrating 55th year of charter, with highlight notes from Charles Parsons. The program on Artistic Gardening will be presented by Bob Snyder, a previous winner of The National Home Gardening Award. September 23. 7 p.m., Northeast Community Center, 4001 N. Cook. Free.
