Spokane Christian Women’s Connection Luncheon – Wednesday, 9:30-11 a.m., in the Commons of Mukogawa Fort Wright Institute, 4320 W. Owen Ridge Road. “Thrift Store Chick,” includes fashion show; live music by Mindy Shaw; and lecture, “In Good Hands,” given by Karen Gunderson, former teacher and secretary from Bellevue. Hispanic Heritage Dinners – In observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Hispanic/Latino Resource Center, “El Centro de Spokane,” will hold benefit dinners on Friday evenings through Oct. 15. Dinners include Hispanic arts, crafts, music, guest speaker, and will each contain a theme and menu to reflect the diversity of Spokane’s Hispanic Community from 6-8 p.m. at the East Central Community Center, 500 Stone. Themes include: Mexican, this Friday; South American, Sept. 24; Central American, Oct.1; Caribbean, Oct. 8; and Latin Festival, Oct. 15.
