Survivor Citizen Action Team Meeting – meeting at 6:30 p.m. for survivors of vehicular assault and vehicular homicide from impaired drivers at the Greater Spokane Substance Abuse Council’s Prevention Center, 8104 E. Hispanic Heritage Dinners – In observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Hispanic/Latino Resource Center, “El Centro de Spokane,” will hold benefit dinners on Fridays, 6-8 p.m., through Oct. 15 at the East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone. Events will include Hispanic arts, crafts, music and guest speaker, and each dinner will contain a theme and menu to reflect the diversity of Spokane’s Hispanic Community. Themes include: Mexican, this Friday; South American, Sept. 24; Central American, Oct.1; Caribbean, Oct. 8; and Latin Festival, Oct. 15. Building Pathways Free Workshop – Two workshops will be offered Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon and 12:30-3:30 p.m., in the outdoor center of The Green Zone, 210/222 N. Havana. Workshopswill give hands-on help to create a walkway, path or driveway without the use of concrete or asphalt, a method that allows precipitation to percolate through the soil, minimizing run-off and promoting water conservation. Family Identification Plan – Presented by COPS Northwest, offers IDs for all children and other family members at risk.
