Man killed in logging mill accident
CONCRETE, Wash. – A 28-year-old man died after he became caught on a roller and was pulled into equipment at a log and chip mill where he worked.
Keith Cain, of Concrete, died Wednesday of massive head and internal injuries, the Skagit County coroner’s office said.
Cain was working near a machine that strips bark from logs at Northwest Forest Fiber Products Inc., Skagit County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Will Reichardt said. Cain became caught on a log roller and was pulled into the machine, Reichardt said.
The state Department of Labor and Industries was investigating, said agency spokeswoman Elaine Fisher.
