A band of volunteers drove 400 miles to keep Brownie safe from harm. She was retrieved from an Ontario, Ore., shelter which was prepared to euthanize this stray, who appears to be a purebred pointer. Second Chance Pet Rescue volunteers felt that her birding instincts would make Brownie desirable and adoptable in North Idaho. They intervened by coordinating three drivers to complete Brownie’s ride. She is bright, loves kids, and requires an active-lifestyle home. If Brownie sounds right for you, or if you can provide a foster home for dogs awaiting adoption, call Second Chance Pet Rescue at 664-4106.
