Pharming

Tech Speak The Spokesman-Review

Similar in nature to e-mail phishing, pharming seeks to obtain personal information through domain spoofing. Pharming ‘poisons’ a computer server, or infuses false information into it, so that when you try to visit a legitimate Web site, you’re redirected elsewhere — even though your browser will show that you’re at the correct Web site. For that reason, pharming is more difficult to detect than phishing.
