Last Wednesday, Colfax (7-2, 1-1) gave defending 1A softball champion Kettle Falls (6-1, 1-1) its first loss of the season in the league-opening doubleheader. KF’s Kassy Schernitzki tossed a three-hitter in a 1-0 KF win in game one, but Lynnea Vantrease outdueled Schernitzki in game two, winning 2-1.
