Name: Alice M. Beek

Hometown: Hayden

Family: Five children: Susan Lowell and Jan Burt, both of Sandpoint; Corinne Sholander, of Genessee, Idaho, and Dee McCumber of Scottsdale, Ariz. Her son, Dan Beek, lives in Anchorage, Alaska, and Alice travels to Anchorage at least three times each summer.

Her husband, John Beek, died three years ago. He was the love of her life and her soulmate.

Alice said that the Lord gave him to her. She is a very strong Christian. She attends Coeur d’Alene Bible Church, and is a member of a singles Sunday school. Every Friday night they have a potluck and fellowship in a different member’s home.

Pets: None, but she has an orchid and an ivy in her house that she takes care of.

Hobbies: Church activities and travel. She said she has a gift of encouragement and so there are a lot of people in her life.

Favorite color: Lavender.

Favorite song: A hymn titled “My Tribute.”

Favorite TV shows: “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune.”

Favorite food: Rib-eye steak. Alice does not like chocolate.
