NCAA goes too far

My car is a proud wearer of several Seminole emblems from Florida State University where I received my MSW in 1967. But now NCAA has directed that FSU’s basketball team must substitute the Seminole name for something more politically correct. Gosh, does that mean I have to remove those emblems now even though the Seminole Tribe has okayed FSU’s use of the Seminole name? Wow!

Doesn’t NCAA have better things to do? I believe in respecting all Native Americans, but this latest NCAA directive is carrying things way too far. Let’s hope that FSU wins its lawsuit to keep the Seminole name and that, in the future, NCAA’s political correctness may be tempered with a little common sense.
