Supertones to play in Post Falls

Christian rockers The O.C. Supertones will bring their farewell tour to Post Falls Thursday for a concert at Real Life Ministries, 1866 Cecil Road.

The California-based ska band, which has released seven CDs since 1996, has played several past events in the Spokane area.

The Rock and Roll Worship Circus from Longview, Wash., also will perform. Rounding out the bill are local bands 10 Minutes Down and Catalyst.

Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the show starting at 6:30.

Advance tickets are $10 ($8 for groups of 15 or more), through TicketsWest outlets (325-SEAT, 800-325-SEAT, www.ticketswest.com) and at 4000 Holes in Spokane and the Long Ear in Coeur d’Alene.

Tickets are $15 the day of the show.

Buddhism seminar today

Members of the local Soka Gakkai International USA are offering an introduction to Buddhism seminar at the South Hill Library, 3324 S. Perry St., today at 1 p.m.

The seminar also will discuss a person’s Buddha nature and “developing your full potential in this lifetime.”

The Spokane Buddhist Temple, 927 S. Perry St., also is offering a workshop today from 1 to 5 p.m.

Bhante Seelawimala will discuss “Developing Your Spiritual Path” and will talk about how religion has developed over time.

Square dancing

Centenary United Methodist Church, 1012 S. Freya St., is holding a square dance tonight at 7.

Anyone 10 and older can dance, and there will be child care provided for those who call ahead. No special clothing or partners are required. Dan Preedy of Green Bluff will call the dance.

Vacation Bible school

Cheney United Methodist Church, 204 Fourth St., Cheney, is offering vacation Bible school Sunday through Thursday.

Kids are invited to take a Serengeti trek starting with a potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m.

Fellowship picnic

Central Lutheran Church is hosting its annual congregational picnic Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Camp Caro in the Dishman Hills.

Everyone is encouraged to bring a salad or dessert to share and plates and flatware. The afternoon also will include games and hiking tours of the Dishman Hills.
