Whitworth soars over Linfield

Lance Pecht went 11 of 15 from the floor, finishing with a game-high 27 points, as Whitworth cruised past Linfield 100-68 in Northwest Conference basketball action Saturday in McMinnville, Ore.

Jon Young added 23 points on 7-of-12 shooting as the Pirates (2-2, 1-1) shot just under 67 percent.

Linfield (1-4, 0-2) was led by Ryan Monagle’s 13 points.

•No. 13 North Idaho remained undefeated on the season, beating Colorado Northwestern 101-86 in the Cardinals’ foul-filled Scenic West Athletic Conference opener in Coeur d’Alene.

Darin Nagle led the Cardinals (11-0, 1-0) with 25 points and six rebounds in a game with 58 total fouls. Colorado Northwestern drops to 4-6, 0-2.
