Balanced attack leads Bengals past Lake City
Beau Blewett scored 12 points and five Lewiston Bengals scored at least nine points in a 59-51 victory over visiting Lake City in an Inland Empire League boys basketball game on Tuesday night.
Bo Gregg scored 10 points and Shane Moser, Jordan Gregg and Andrew Packwood added nine apiece for the Bengals (2-0, 2-0), who took over the game with a 17-8 second quarter to take a 12-point halftime lead.
Ty Stoddard scored 13 points and hit a pair of 3-pointers for the Timberwolves (2-4, 1-1) before fouling out. Cory Kreighbaum added eight points.
•Jeremiah Big Spring scored 16 points and Kellogg forced 21 Mullan turnovers in a 59-41 non-league victory at Kellogg. Jacob Conboy added 11 points for the Wildcats (5-1), who outscored the Tigers 17-7 in the second quarter en route to a 15-point halftime lead. Jesse James led Mullan (4-2) with 14 points. … Eight Riverside players scored at least five points apiece in a 57-31 rout of visiting Timberlake. Kelsey Taylor scored 15 points to lead Moscow to a 49-44 victory at Post Falls in an Inland Empire League game. Chantel Divilbiss added eight for the Bears (2-5, 2-2), who converted two technical fouls by the Trojans (4-3, 2-2) in the final 3 minutes into six points.
•Amanda Seeling scored 14 points and Kellogg had only seven turnovers in a 51-23 victory over visiting Timberlake in an Intermountain League game. Steph Cantrall added eight for the Wildcats (6-5, 2-0), who led 33-12 at halftime. Lynsie Powers led the Tigers (3-6, 0-1) with seven points.
•Cassie Scheffelmaier had 16 points, six rebounds and eight assists to lead Kootenai to a 37-31 victory over visiting Clark Fork in a North Star League game at Harrison. Hanna Nyrop added 12 points and four steals for the Warriors (6-3, 1-0). The Wampus Cats (1-3, 1-1) struggled from the free-throw line, shooting just 10 of 26.
•Lacy Hopkins scored 14 points as Priest River defeated host Colville 40-29 in a non-league game. Tabitha Clark added 10 for the Spartans (2-4), who led 21-8 at halftime. Shayd Urhausen led the Indians (0-3) with seven points.
