Meat sale to add muscle to COPS SE

South Hill residents can become “steak-holders” in the fight against crime.

COPS Southeast is holding a meat sale to raise money for the program and office at 2824 E. 29th Ave.

For $68, buyers receive a variety pack that includes sirloin steaks, chicken breasts, pork loin chops and lean beef patties. The meat is flash-frozen and vacuum-sealed by Inland Meats.

COPS Southeast receives $10 for every order. Orders must be paid for by Friday and can be picked up from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday or by special arrangement.

Walk-in orders may be placed at COPS SE, 2824 E. 29th Ave.

Just a trim

If you notice trees being removed from neighborhood parks, don’t worry. It’s just the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department’s urban forestry staff removing dead, dying and damaged trees.

Between now and the end of January trees will be removed from Manito, Comstock, High Bridge, Hamblen, High Drive, Upper Lincoln, Riverfront, Palisades/Rimrock and Whittier parks and on Hatch Road near Blackwood.

Meetings

“ The East Central Neighborhood Council will meet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the East Central Community Center, Fifth and Stone.
