Late free throws lift Deer Park
Laura Gibson’s free throws with 18 seconds left lifted Deer Park to a 65-64 Great Northern League girls basketball win over visiting Lakeside Tuesday – knocking the sixth-ranked Eagles out of a share of the league lead.
The final two points of Gibson’s 21-point night gave the Stags a three-point lead, 65-62.
Lakeside (12-3, 5-2) falls into a second-place tie with idle Riverside, a game behind fifth-ranked Chewelah.
Deer Park (11-4, 4-3) got 16 points and five assists from Kaytee Clough.
Tiffany Corigliano poured in 18 points to lead the Eagles.
Chewelah 55, Colville 35: Sarah Scates scored six of her team-high 14 points in the third quarter to spark the Cougars (14-2, 7-1). Jochelle Schatz added a dozen points for Chewelah. Melissa Rice scored 11 and Raylynn Martin 10 to lead Colville (1-15, 0-8).

Slow start doesn’t stop Warriors
Almira/Coulee-Hartline fell behind 11-2 in its game with visiting Liberty, then went on an 18-1 run that sparked the Warriors to a 66-56 home-court victory. Kami Clark was 9 of 14 from the field and scored a game-high 21 points and Michelle Balcom added 17 points and six assists to lead ACH (15-2, 14-1), which maintained its first-place tie with Sprague-Harrington. Shannon Davis scored 13 points and Shawn Hennessey 12 to lead the Patriots (10-7, 10-5). … Sprague-Harrington 57, Reardan 23: Abby Hatten scored 19 of her 24 points in the first half to lead the Falcons (15-2, 14-1) to the win at Reardan. Jen Christerson had 8 points to lead the Indians (3-14, 2-13). … Odessa 64, Davenport 55: The Tigers (3-14, 3-12) started fast behind Andrea Kuch, who scored nine of her game-high 21 points in the first eight minutes. Mallory Mielke scored 15 points to lead the Gorillas (9-8, 8-7). … Lind-Ritzville 39, Valley Christian 22: The Crusaders (4-13, 3-12) were just 1 of 16 from the field in the first half at home, trailing 15-2 at intermission. Mikaela Schmunk had 19 points to lead the Broncos (9-8, 9-6). … Wilbur-Creston 33, Northwest Christian 27: Maddisen Peterson scored seven of the Wildcats nine fourth-quarter points to lead her team to the victory at Colbert. Peterson finished with 17 points for Wilbur-Creston (7-10, 7-8). Sara Fairburn scored 12 points to lead the Crusaders (7-10, 6-9).

Tigercats use turnovers to rout Rosalia
LaCrosse-Washtucna pounced on 16 Rosalia turnovers in the first half and romped to a 62-25 victory over the visiting Spartans (3-15, 0-10). Alyssa Koller scored 14 points to lead the Tigercats (13-4, 6-3).

Barranco powers Grizz past Cardinals
Maria Barranco’s three-point play in the final minute lifted the Grizzlies to a 59-56 non-league victory at Medical Lake. Barranco scored 18 points and Megan Stanley added another 17 to lead the Grizzlies (9-9). Richelle Daily scored 16 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to led the Cardinals (5-10). … Columbia 38, Soap Lake 26: Columbia used 18 steals to score a non-league victory over visiting Soap Lake. Nikkol Sipes led the Lions (3-14) with 12 points and seven steals.
