Senior guard Simmons could rejoin Washington State
PULLMAN – Washington State could re-gain the services of senior guard Isaiah Simmons as soon as today, according to men’s basketball head coach Dick Bennett.
Simmons, a walk-on who played mostly as a defensive specialist off the bench, was declared academically ineligible after the game against USC on Jan. 8 and has not played for WSU since.
While the team has played seven games since, Simmons has had an ongoing appeal in progress. According to Bennett, the senior is at a point where he needs only to secure a few signatures from faculty members before being allowed to join the team for the rest of the season.
