Cal State Fullerton has 12 wins, surpassing last year’s 11 with eight regular-season games left. … Idaho senior Dandrick Jones (17.3) is No. 1 in scoring in Big West games, but he slipped to second (16.5) behind CSF’s Bobby Brown (16.8) in overall games. Vandals senior forward Anton Lyons is first in rebounding (9 rpg) in conference games and third overall (7 rpg). … Utah State has won six straight games by at least 24 points. The Aggies made 10 of 15 3-pointers and shot 71 percent against UC Santa Barbara, which leads the Big West in scoring defense. … Long Beach State, 1-9 in conference with its lone win over Idaho, has seven losses by six points or less. The 49ers shot 52.9 percent and still fell 68-66 to CS Northridge last week. … Idaho freshmen point guard Jerod Haynes, who missed last week’s road trip with a shoulder injury, should play this week but probably won’t start. … According to the Riverside (Calif.) Press-Enterprise, UC Riverside’s Steve Williams and leading scorer Larry Cunningham were arrested Dec. 1 on suspicion of stealing a cell phone from two women they met at a San Diego State basketball game. The players said it was a misunderstanding and they were returning the phone when police arrived. No charges have been filed.
