With the NEA tournament beginning Friday at Mead, the favorites would figure to be easy to handicap based on the regular season. Both Freeman teams finished 6-0 in league without being seriously challenged. Colfax’s girls and Kettle Falls’ boys both finished 4-2 and appear to have the inside track for the second spot to the state tournament, but they will have to beat the No. 3 seeds, Kettle Falls’ girls and Colfax’s boys for a third time, and possibly a fourth, to make the trip to Yakima.
