Occupation: Teacher’s aide at Pinehurst Elementary School. She also works at the family business, Big Boom Fireworks, manning the display in Runge’s parking lot on North Fourth Street, where they have been for 10 years. Her father-in-law, John Peterson, owns Big Boom, and they also have stands in Hayden, Post Falls, Ponderay, Grangeville, Pinehurst and Cataldo.
Family: Husband, Scott; two daughters, Lauren, 17 and Chloe, 13, and one son, Gavin, 10.
Hobbies: Her three active children keep her busy. She also enjoys gardening.
Summer travel: The Petersons already went to Washington, D.C., this summer, as Chloe took second place in State History Day for Idaho. She competed in D.C. right after school got out, performing three different roles in a play she wrote.
Favorite movie: “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
