Whitworth ministry workshop

The 30th annual Whitworth Institute of Ministry will run Monday through Friday at Whitworth College, 300 W. Hawthorne Road.

Pastors and Christian leaders from the area are invited to attend workshops led by authors and theologians. Two rounds of workshops are scheduled during the week at a cost of $50 each.

Singing Nuns

The Singing Nuns of Mount St. Michael, 8504 N. St. Michael’s Road, present their annual Courtyard Concert today.

The gates will open at 4:30 p.m. and the nuns will conduct tours of the facility. The afternoon also will feature an art exhibit by Post Falls child prodigy Akiane Kramarik, a harpist, Irish dancers, a country band and food booths.

The nuns will sing at 7 p.m. and will end the show with the “Hallelujah Chorus.”

The cost is $5 a person, $15 per car load or $30 per bus load. For information, call 467-0986.

Foothills Family Fun Festival

Foothills Community Church. 11102 N. Forker Road, is presenting a Family Fun Festival today from noon to 5 p.m.

The afternoon will feature a car show, craft fair, face painting, trivia, pony rides, bingo, a cupcake walk and many more games. There also will be cotton candy, popcorn and snow cones, and lunch will be available for purchase.

Organ and piano concert

The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., is presenting organ and piano duets from Martin Welzel and Alexandra Kertz-Welzel on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The duo will play music from 19th- and 20th-century composers including Peeters, Dupre, Karg-Elert and Saint-Saens. They have played all over the world as soloists and have several music degrees between them.

The cathedral also is offering tours from noon to 4 p.m.

Sitar concert

The Radha Yoga Center, 406 S. Coeur d’Alene St., is presenting master sitarist Pandit Shivnath Mishra and his son, Deobrat Mishra, from India today at 7:30 p.m. The duo will play classical Indian raga.

Vacation Bible school

• Moran United Methodist Church, 3601 E. 65th Ave., will present “Ranch House Kids” vacation Bible school Monday through Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Children ages 4 through 12 are invited for dinner, stories, crafts, and songs, although 4-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult.

• Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 3307 W. Rowan Ave., is presenting the “Arctic Adventure” vacation Bible school Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

• First Covenant Church, 212 S. Division St., is presenting vacation Bible school Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

Christian Singles speed dating

Singles in their 20s, 30s or 40s are invited to attend the Spokane Christian Singles speed dating today at 7 p.m. at Colbert Presbyterian Church, 4211 E. Colbert Road.

The cost is $10 for your first visit and $5 for every visit after that.

The group also will hold a picnic at 1 p.m. Sunday at Dishman Hills Park, 625 S. Sargent Road, Spokane Valley. Singles are asked to bring a dish to share and their hiking boots to join in a hike.
