EVERETT––Robert Fagan allowed one run on five hits in six innings, and his Everett AquaSox shelled Spokane Indians pitcher Brett Zamzow early and often in a 12-2 win Monday night at Everett Memorial Stadium.

The Indians have now lost nine straight since defeating the Eugene Emeralds 5-4 at Avista Stadium on July 8.

Spokane jumped ahead 1-0 in the top of the second inning. First baseman Phillip Hawke led off the inning with a double to right field, then scored after groundouts by John Mayberry and Lizahio Baez.

The AquaSox responded in the bottom of the inning on a two-run single by outfielder Michael Saunders, scoring J.B. Tucker and Trevor Heid to take a 2-1 lead.

They piled on three more runs in the third with two outs, starting with a Daniel Santin two-run single to right. Santin scored two batters later on Heid single.

Zamzow (0-3) also gave up a solo home run to Jeffrey Flaig in the fifth to total six runs on seven hits in five innings.

AquaSox leadoff man Casey Craig, who blasted a three-run shot over the berm in right field off Indians reliever Cain Byrd, went 3 for 5 and scored twice.

Hawke was the lone bright spot for the Indians, hitting 2 for 2, walking twice and getting hit by a pitch to reach base in all five plate appearances.

Spokane and Everett will return to Memorial Stadium for the fourth of their five-game series tonight.
