Frisco pitchers perfect
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Former major leaguer Steve Karsay and two other pitchers combined on a perfect game for the Frisco Roughriders in a 3-0 victory Thursday night over the Corpus Christi Hooks in the Texas League.
A.J. Murray (3-3) started for Frisco and struck out eight over six innings before yielding to Karsay, who pitched the seventh and eighth. Scott Feldman got the final three outs to finish the first no-hit game in the franchise’s three-year history.
Karsay signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers on May 15, three days after he was released by the New York Yankees.
Karsay, a left-hander, was assigned two weeks later to Frisco, the Rangers’ Double-A affiliate.
