Rockies 2, Tigers 0: At Denver, Jamey Wright pitched six-hit ball into the eighth inning and Garrett Atkins hit a two-run homer to help Colorado beat Detroit, matching the lowest-scoring game in Coors Field’s 11-year history.

Pirates 7, Devil Rays 2: At Pittsburgh, Jason Bay and Daryle Ward each drove in three runs as Pittsburgh beat Tampa Bay.

Orioles 4, Reds 3: At Cincinnati, Melvin Mora hit a three-run homer, leading Baltimore to a victory over Cincinnati. The game marked the first time that three 500-homer players appeared in the same game – Sammy Sosa (580), Rafael Palmeiro (559) and Ken Griffey Jr., who hit a solo shot in the eighth for No. 511.

Angels 12, Mets 2: At New York, Steve Finley and Darin Erstad each homered to help Bartolo Colon win his fourth straight decision as Los Angeles beat New York.

Astros 4, Blue Jays 2: At Houston, Willy Taveras, Morgan Ensberg and Jason Lane homered, and Wandy Rodriguez pitched out of several jams to lead Houston over Toronto in the first game between the franchises.

Athletics 6, Braves 4: At Atlanta, Eric Chavez hit a tie-breaking, two-run homer and Oakland snapped an 11-game road losing streak by beating Atlanta.

Cardinals 8, Yankees 1: At St. Louis, Joe Torre’s first game since being fired as Cardinals manager 10 years ago was far from a happy homecoming, as St. Louis got a big game from Albert Pujols in a victory over New York.

Marlins 12, Rangers 5: At Miami, reliever Doug Brocail walked Luis Castillo on four pitches to force in the go-ahead run and Mike Lowell hit a grand slam one out later to highlight Florida’s win over Texas.

White Sox 4, Padres 2: At San Diego, Jon Garland pitched seven strong innings to join Florida’s Dontrelle Willis as the only 10-game winners in the majors, leading Chicago to a win over San Diego.

Indians 10, Giants 2: At San Francisco, C.C. Sabathia allowed five hits in eight innings and also hit a two-run double to lead Cleveland to a victory over San Francisco.

Diamondbacks 12, Royals 11 (10): At Phoenix, Troy Glaus led off the 10th with his 14th homer, giving Arizona a victory over Kansas City.

Dodgers 6, Twins 5: At Los Angeles, Hee-Seop Choi hit his second homer of the game in the ninth, giving Los Angeles a win over Minnesota.

Phillies 5, Brewers 2: At Philadelphia, David Bell’s three-run homer in the ninth led Philadelphia over Milwaukee for its 13th win in 15 games.
