NEW FACES

Kevin Cary has been hired as a structural project engineer at DCI Engineers. He recently graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering.

DCI Engineers has hired Duane Poffenberger as a structural CAD designer. He previously worked at CTS Engineering in Salt Lake City and holds an associate’s degree in architectural technology from Spokane Community College.

Yong Choo has been hired as coordinator of the North Idaho College Residence Hall. He holds a master’s degree in counseling and previously worked as a graduate assistant resident director.

Exit Real Estate-Jones & Associates has hired Mary Butler as a Realtor. She previously worked as director of development at the YWCA.

Paula Cohen has been hired as director of catering and conference services at the Davenport Hotel. She previously worked as a catering/event manager at the Harbor Beach Resort and Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Huppin, Ewing, Anderson & Paul has hired Noel Pitner as an attorney. He graduated cum laude from Gonzaga University and will specialize in criminal law, civil litigation, personal injury and commercial and business law.

Clifton Barber has been hired as director of the professional development program at Washington State University Spokane. He was previously a professor in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Colorado State University and holds a doctorate degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Exit Real Estate-Jones & Associates has hired Ron Rowley as a Realtor. He previously worked as president of the North Central Washington Economic Development Council.

Mayh Allen has been hired as a Realtor at Exit Real Estate-Jones & Associates. Allen previously worked at Keller Williams North.

World Wide Packets has hired Michael Nielsen as executive vice president of engineering and product management. He has over 20 years of engineering experience and most recently worked as chief technology officer for a division of Lucent. He also has held senior management positions at CoSine Communications and Silicon Graphics.

Bob Finn has been hired as director of alumni relations at Gonzaga University. He is a 1988 graduate of Gonzaga and has been a biology and fitness teacher at University High School and was also the head boys’ golf coach.

PROMOTED

Josh Comfort has been promoted at DCI Engineers to project manager in the structural engineering department. Comfort has been with the company for five years and is a graduate of Gonzaga University.

The Davenport Hotel has promoted Belinda Jensen to sales manager. She has worked at the hotel since 2001 in several positions including meetings express manager and catering manager.

Vicky Priestley has been promoted to manager of the Arc of Spokane enclave in the Avista Utilities investment recovery program. She has over 10 years of experience in the development disabilities field and has been assistant manager of the program for the last three years.

The Arc of Spokane has promoted Janet Villalobos to manager of the Spokane Valley branch. She has been with the Arc for 12 years and most recently worked as a community living instructor.

Ron Barnhill has been promoted to purchasing manager at Colmac Industries. He has been with the company since 1991 and has worked as a buyer in the purchasing department for 13 years.

KUDOS

The Spokane Public Relations Council has awarded 11 SPARC Awards to Creative Consultants. Edmond Bruneau, the company’s president, also served as creative director and senior copywriter for all of the award-winning projects.

John Fox, manager of the Colbert Country Insurance & Financial Services office, and Dan Evans, an agent of the company’s Newman Lake office, were recently named to the company’s All-American team.

Spokane Teachers Credit Union recently received 18 awards for marketing from the Credit Union National Association and the Credit Union Executives Society.

Sacred Heart Medical Center has received the 2004 Achievement in Healthcare Quality from Qualis Health.
