The following nonprofit organizations need volunteer help. If you’re interested, please contact them directly:

Coeur d’Alene Police Department: Volunteers needed for data entry and filing. Also, for assisting abandoned vehicles department in record keeping. Minimum 16 hours a month. Call Wally, 666-5732.

Visitors’ Center: Volunteers needed to assist the walk-in public find their way around. Approximately two hours a week, downtown Coeur d’Alene Visitors’ Center or I 90 rest stop. Call Carl, 777-2158.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters: Volunteers needed to act as community-based mentors for two to four hours a week. To be matched with a terrific child. Call Ruth, 667-0975.

Birthright: Volunteers needed three hours a week to help women in our community worried about their pregnancies. Training provided. Call Dorothy, 765-4516.

Coeur d’Alene Symphony League: Volunteers needed to help promote the symphony at Art on the Green, the Labor Day Concert in the Park, and at the five regular concerts. Membership, $15. Call Barb, 664-4192.

Panhandle Health District, Senior Companion: Volunteers needed for a minimum of 15 hours a week to help seniors unable to drive or who need companionship in their homes. Some compensation provided. Phone Terri, 664-8544
