Bears defeat Tigers in Big 12 semifinal

Sophia Young scored 18 points and No. 6 Baylor (25-3) moved into the semifinals of the Big 12 tournament with a 70-52 win over Missouri (11-18) on Wednesday at Kansas City, Mo.

Chameka Scott hit four 3-pointers and scored 16 points for the top-seeded Bears, who will play No. 14 Texas Tech today.

Christelle N’Garsanet led Missouri with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but the Tigers turned over the ball 21 times and shot just 35 percent from the field.

In other Big 12 tournament games: (11) Texas 65, Oklahoma 59: Tiffany Jackson scored 25 points, including nine down the stretch, to lead the Longhorns (21-7) past the Sooners (17-12). Leah Rush had 19 points for Oklahoma. … (14) Texas Tech 61, No. 18 Iowa State 59: Alesha Robertson made two free throws with 2.7 seconds left and the Cyclones (23-6) had a last-second shot rim out. Robertson and Chelsey Dabbs each had 13 points to lead the Lady Raiders (22-6). … (17) Kansas State 71, Nebraska 45: Kendra Wecker scored 19 points and became the Big 12’s career scoring leader, lifting the Wildcats (22-6) to victory over the Huskers (17-13). Nebraska was just 2 for 12 on 3-point attempts.
