Bennett points Wisconsin-Stevens Point to another championship

Nick Bennett led a 24-8 run early in the second half and Wisconsin-Stevens Point repeated as NCAA Division III men’s basketball champion Saturday with a 73-49 victory against Rochester at Salem, Va.

Jon Krull scored 22 points, Bennett 18 and Jason Kalsow 15 for the Pointers (29-3). Rochester (25-5) got 14 points from Jon Onyiriuka.

Women

Lindsay Ippel scored 25 points and Joanna Conner had 15 rebounds as Millikin won its first Division III national title, beating Randolph-Macon 70-50 at Virginia Beach, Va.

Audrey Minott added 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting for Millikin (29-2).

Megan Silva led Randolph-Macon (30-2) with 11 points.
