BILLINGS, Mont. — Chris Snyder, who was an All-America kicker for the University of Montana in 2003, is on the roster of the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europe.

Snyder, 23, who holds the NCAA I-AA scoring record for kickers with 394 career points, was allocated to the Admirals by the NFL’s Houston Texans.

Amsterdam’s fifth-year head coach Bart Andrus is a former Montana quarterback and still has a home in Bigfork.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Snyder, who graduated from Mt. Spokane High School, was a three-time All-Big Sky Conference kicker and was part of four Big Sky championship teams with the Grizzlies. He arrived in the Netherlands with the Amsterdam team earlier this week after nearly a month of training camp in Florida.

The Admirals open the NFL Europe season April 2 with a home game against the Rhein (Germany) Fire.

Amsterdam’s roster also includes linebacker Greg Carothers, a Helena, Mont., native who played collegiate football at the University of Washington.
