Fund-raising CD released

Newsday

The next round of musical fund-raising projects for victims of the December tsunami is starting to arrive.

One of the best is “Good Music for Tsunami Relief,” a 27-track double CD from Urban Outfitters stores and Filter Magazine.

Live tracks from Wilco, French Kicks and My Morning Jacket are standouts, as are remixes from Interpol, Franz Ferdinand and Elbow.

The biggest surprise is Bellingham band Death Cab for Cutie’s cover of The Cure’s “Love Song,” in which singer Ben Gibbard taps into his inner Robert Smith.
