ML, Colville split GNL doubleheader

Kyle Erickson singled in Dustin Propeck in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Medical Lake a 3-2 win over Colville in the first game of a baseball doubleheader in Medical Lake.

Cory Cooper struck out 10 for ML (8-6, 6-6 Great Northern League), but received a no-decision.

In Game 2, Colville’s Jacob Weilep struck out six in a complete-game six-hitter as the Indians (6-7, 6-7) picked up a split with a 6-1 win.

Weilep added a triple and two RBIs and Dan Bell had three hits, a home run, a double and two RBIs for Colville.

Softball

Stephanie Symons struck out nine, allowing only four hits as Riverside (7-4, 3-2 GNL) rolled to an 11-1 win over Deer Park (1-12, 0-7) in Chattaroy.

Boys soccer

Brady Ostendorf scored twice to lead Riverside (8-3, 7-4 Great Northern League) to a 3-1 win at Deer Park (3-7, 3-6), including a 55th-minute score that gave Riverside a comfortable two-goal advantage. Jeff Thompson tallied one for the Rams in between Ostendorf’s goals.
