Bones found in lake

KALISPELL – A dive team was expected to begin searching Whitefish Lake for a body Wednesday afternoon, a day after a fisherman snagged a sock containing human foot bones, Flathead County authorities said.

The fisherman had been fishing in an area where the water was about 60 feet deep Tuesday when he pulled up a sock with 11 small bones in it.

Detective Bruce Parish said the bodies of several people who have drowned in the lake haven’t been recovered.
